As part of Bentley's inaugural education programme the company has announced the UK finalist projects that have been selected for the 2021 Future Infrastructure Star Challenge.

Through the Future Infrastructure Star Challenge 2021, Bentley has invited students from around the world to submit their thoughts, ideas, and innovations that they see for the future infrastructure industry.

The winning submission is set to receive a cash prize of $5,000 and will be announced at this year's Year in Infrastructure Going Digital Awards, taking place virtually on 1-2 December. The UK finalist projects include:

University of Sheffield: The future of green buildings - the damaging effect of greenhouse gas emissions in the construction industry.

Swansea University: Achieving net zero - producing rapidly deployable technology to capture carbon emissions in UK urban areas.

University of Westminster: Transforming horticulture and food supply chains - can the UK become fully self-sufficient?

The three projects represent some of the best work submitted by college and university students as part of the competition, with students gaining access to Bentley's most popular software applications as well as learning resources and industry experts to help inspire them.
